Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, more commonly known as Corinthians, is one of the most successful and beloved football clubs in Brazil. Founded in 1910 in the working-class district of São Paulo, Corinthians has grown into a powerhouse of Brazilian football, known for its passionate fanbase, rich history, and unwavering commitment to success. The club’s black and white colors and the famous crest featuring an anchor and two crossed oars symbolize its humble origins and the club’s deep connection to the city’s working-class roots.
Corinthians, affectionately called Timão (The Big Team), has a proud tradition of triumphs in both domestic and international competitions. The club has won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title seven times, with their most recent victory in 2017. Additionally, Corinthians has lifted the Copa do Brasil three times and has claimed the prestigious Campeonato Paulista (São Paulo state championship) on multiple occasions, making them one of the dominant forces in the country.
One of the crowning moments in Corinthians’ history came in 2012, when they won the Copa Libertadores for the first time. Under the management of Tite, the team displayed tactical discipline and resilience, defeating Boca Juniors in the final to claim the title. Later that year, Corinthians went on to win the FIFA Club World Cup, defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final, a moment that elevated the club to global recognition and filled their supporters with immense pride.
